Egypt had ups and downs with kings. Like some kings didn't tend to their duties of being pharaohs. Which some kings helped them become rich with trading and got the nickname "The Golden Age". Also that the a pharaoh was a women and she helped more by a making trading and other task easier. But most of the empire fall apart.

The problem was that the King of Egypt ,"Akhenaton" neglected his duties pharaoh. Which he put all his focus and more devoted to his new religion. Since Akhenaton didn't tend to his duties as pharaoh he was removed from the throne. So who every the new king was going to be they made sure that he would tend to his duties.
