eq: WHy was the development of the ancient indIA unique?
What makes the development unique is what, and how India works. Which I am trying to say is that India has unique is for their government and how the use social classing. This is a way that everybody knew each other and which to associate with. There were technically 5 different groups in the caste system but thousands of different sections in the groups.
why is the geography of india important?
India's geography is important because where it is located, two rivers run through it. These rivers are called the Indus and the Ganga river. People that settled on the banks of these rivers went as far back as the prehistoric times. Many rivers flow through India which made the land very fertile. The Indus river was used far back when they first started writing which was one of the first civilizations.
WHat is the caste system & what role did the arayn's play in it?
The caste system was,a system used to help divide the Aryans. At the top of the caste system were the Gods, which there were 1000s of Gods. Then next to the Gods was the Brahmins, which were the priests and scholars. The Brahmins people technically had it the best. Right under the Brahmins were the Kshatriyas, which were the rulers, warriors, and even landowners. Then there were the Vaisiyas, these were the farmers and merchants. At the lowest part of the caste system were the Sudras. The Sudras people were the artisans and laborers. Also there is a group that is not even in the caste system. These people are the "untouchables" and if you touch them or get to close to them you will get "polluted". (There is a chart below)
What do hindus believe?
Hinduism drew out of the religious customs of many people over thousands of years. Which might be the reason that Hinduism have thousands of gods. They believe that all of the gods they believe in have different parts in one universal spirit. Which the universal spirit was called brahman. Which the search of the universal spirit the ancient religious writing was known was as upanishads. These writings say that every thing that is living thing has a soul. And all of the souls want to be reunited with brahman. A soul becomes part of of brahmans is like a lump of salt thrown into water.
WHat do Buddhist believe?
Buddhism was developed by Siddhartha Gautama.They don't believe in the caste system. Don't have complexed rituals/priest, and that anyone can get enlightenment. They also don't believe in other gods except of mahayana, that they only believe in the 4 noble troops and the 8 fold-path. Buddhist believe in many other things as well.
